An 83-year-old pensioner from Padova, Italy, was the victim of a violent robbery on October 24, when two masked individuals broke into her apartment, immobilizing her along with a 64-year-old friend. The thieves, using keys to enter, stole jewelry and approximately 2,000 euros, causing the victim injuries that required medical attention. Neighbors, hearing the noises, alerted the authorities.
The Carabinieri analyzed footage from surveillance cameras and discovered that the thieves changed their clothes near the crime scene, thus identifying them as two Moldovan citizens, aged 32 and 33. The investigation led to the discovery of a third person involved, the victim's caregiver, who provided the thieves with the keys to the residence and information about her schedule. The three suspects have been arrested and are now in the custody of the authorities, who continue investigations to verify their possible involvement in other crimes.
