This action underscores not only the maintenance but also the improvement of the quality and lethality of American forces deployed in the country. General Vlad discussed NATO commitments with the Supreme Allied Commander, General Grynkewich, ensuring that Romania will benefit from a consistent contribution to its defense. It was also mentioned that the adjustments announced by the United States do not indicate a weakening of defense, but a change in the profile of the forces. At the end of October 2025, the then Minister of Defense, Ionuț Moșteanu, confirmed that the U.S. will resize some of the deployed troops, maintaining between 900 and 1,000 military personnel in Romania.
