On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the 'Theodor Pallady' Theoretical High School in Bucharest was evacuated after teachers reported a strong smell of gas in the building. Students and staff were safely taken outside, and teams from the Bucharest-Ilfov Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU), along with CBRN specialists, responded quickly.
The smell was particularly detected on the first floor, and teachers called 112 for assistance. Until the teams arrived, the windows were opened for ventilation. Specialists identified a leak at a gas valve near the high school, but measurements taken did not show gas concentrations inside the building. Teaching activities were temporarily suspended, and the perimeter remains monitored until the safety of the building is confirmed.
