The President of Romania has decided to challenge the recently adopted law that allows an increase in the bear culling quota at the Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR). This measure has sparked controversy and concerns among environmental organizations and animal lovers, who believe that the law could lead to a significant reduction in the bear population.

The court date for this challenge has been set for June 24, and the CCR's decision will have a major impact on wildlife management in Romania. The President emphasizes the importance of protecting biodiversity and ecological balance, arguing that measures for controlling the bear population should be based on scientific studies and not on regulations that favor the killing of animals.
