INSP confirmed on Friday that the patient from Caraș-Severin, suspected of hantavirus infection, is not infected. The tests conducted at the 'Cantacuzino' Institute came back negative, and INSP communicated that medical investigations will continue to determine the cause of the patient's symptoms. This concerns a 44-year-old man who presented with fever syndrome, weight loss, and severe fatigue for approximately a month. The announcement comes after a case of hantavirus infection was confirmed in a 25-year-old man from Arad, who was recently discharged after improving his health condition. Health authorities had previously reported the suspected case from Caraș-Severin, and the patient had recently traveled to Serbia.
