Doctors have observed an alarming increase in the number of teenage girls presenting to emergency rooms with serious eye problems caused by the use of false eyelashes applied with glue purchased online or from fast-fashion stores. These young women suffer from corneal burns, eye infections, and severe allergic reactions, which can have long-term effects on their vision. Specialists emphasize that eyelash adhesives contain irritating chemicals, such as cyanoacrylate and formaldehyde, which can cause serious injuries, especially in cases of improper application.

Many of the products purchased online do not meet safety standards and lack clear labeling, which exposes users to significant risks. Doctors warn that social pressure on teenage girls to look a certain way contributes to excessive use of makeup and false eyelashes, without them being aware of the dangers. It is essential for parents to openly discuss these risks with their daughters and to avoid cheap or unverified products. In case of eye discomfort, it is crucial to seek emergency medical attention to prevent severe complications.
