The General Secretariat of the Government has initiated a project aimed at increasing transparency in the management of state assets administered by the Autonomous Administration "State Protocol Property Administration" (RA-APPS).
Dan Reșitnec, the Secretary General of the Government, announced that Romanians will be able to access information about who uses the RA-APPS properties, the type of contract, the method of allocation (directly or through auction), as well as their value and duration. The measure aims to eliminate the secrecy that has characterized the management of RA-APPS assets, which has been treated as a state secret.
Reșitnec emphasized that transparency is essential, stating that "the state is not anyone's estate."
The announcement comes following previous efforts by USR to publish information about RA-APPS assets, including actions in court for the declassification of contracts. The Government decision will come into effect after publication in the Official Gazette, and RA-APPS will be required to publish complete lists on the official website.
