The negotiations held on Tuesday with the unions did not lead to an agreement regarding the salary demands in Education, and technical discussions will continue to find a formula that can be supported by the budget, said the interim Minister of Labor, Dragoș Pîslaru.
Representatives of the Government, unions, and experts analyzed at the Ministry of Labor the financial impact of the requests, but these exceed the available resources. "We cannot fit within 3 billion as it was initially, plus another 3 billion that we could make available by 2028 for the demands of the unions in the education sector," Pîslaru stated.
The minister specified that negotiations will continue for Education and Health, and one of the formulas analyzed for Education involves a phasing of measures starting with the school year 2028-2029. "A solution that starts from this idea is that we could have as a principle this phasing," Pîslaru said.
Discussions will also focus on issues in Health, including payment for work on weekends and on legal holidays. "I know that the unions have somewhat withdrawn upset this evening because we do not have an agreement yet," the interim minister stated.
