The government intends to approve on Thursday an emergency ordinance to regulate the necessary measures for organizing the elections on December 7, 2025, which include the election of the general mayor of Bucharest, the president of the Buzău County Council, and the mayors of another 12 localities. The allowances for the personnel involved in the electoral process will vary between 128 and 248 lei per day, based on their function. Additionally, a protocol allowance of 35 lei per day will be granted to members of the electoral offices and technical staff. The government will implement a pilot project in at least 6 polling stations in Bucharest to facilitate voting for voters with visual disabilities, with expenses covered by the state budget. Candidacies for the positions of general mayor of the Capital and president of the Buzău County Council can be submitted between November 12 and 17, according to the established electoral calendar.
