The General Council of Bucharest Municipality approved on Thursday a draft resolution establishing the distribution of approximately 8 billion lei, estimated for 2026, from the shares allocated from the income tax.

The Capital City Hall will receive 3.6 billion lei, while the sectors will benefit from varying amounts, with Sector 3, led by Robert Negoiță (PSD), receiving the largest allocation of 873 million lei. Following is Sector 6 with 806 million lei and Sector 4 with 776 million lei. The amounts for the other sectors are: Sector 1 – 532 million lei, Sector 2 – 691 million lei, Sector 5 – 646 million lei.

The project was adopted with 41 votes in favor and 7 abstentions. This is the first time in over 20 years that 85% of the income tax is distributed by the General Council, according to the referendum initiated by Nicușor Dan, instead of the Government and Parliament.
