Representatives of the Police Union "Diamantul" have brought to attention serious irregularities within the Romanian Gendarmerie, including excessive work shifts and inappropriate assignments. A gendarme from the Constanța Mobile Group sent a desperate message, describing 19-hour shifts with only 4 hours of rest and the request to perform maintenance work, such as laying tiles, an activity that is not part of the job description.

The union emphasized the fear of gendarmes to report these abuses due to repercussions. The leadership of the Group responded that overtime is compensated according to the law and that maintenance activities were carried out on a voluntary basis, rejecting the allegations of abuse. This situation highlights the tensions and challenges faced by military personnel in fulfilling their duties.
