The Caracal Local Council has approved a draft resolution that allows the operation of gambling halls, provided that strict rules are followed. Deputy Mayor Lari Pătran announced that operators will have to pay a fee of 1,500 lei per square meter and adapt the facades of the buildings to the architecture of the area, using neutral colors and avoiding architectural lighting.
Authorized halls will have a period of six months to comply with these requirements, and non-compliance will lead to the cancellation of the authorization. Each hall will need to be individually approved by the Local Council, and the first authorization could be voted on in May. Currently, Caracal hosts 15 economic operators engaged in gambling activities in 25 halls, including units of the National Lottery.
