The purchase was approved in September 2023, and the devices will be used in particular to combat drug use and drug trafficking, in the context of an alarming increase in these phenomena, especially among minors. The Government also approved the reorganization of the National Anti-Drug Agency, moving the integrated assistance of drug users from the Ministry of Interior to the health system.
