The European Union has presented an ambitious plan, DigitalJustice@2030, aimed at the digital transformation of judicial systems by 2030. It includes two essential documents: the DigitalJustice@2030 strategy and the European Judicial Training Strategy 2025–2030, which propose 14 actions for the adoption of modern technologies and the improvement of cross-border cooperation. A central aspect of the plan is the development of the European Legal Data Space, which will allow online access to standardized legislation and jurisprudence.

The strategy provides for the creation of an 'IT toolkit' for reusing existing digital solutions, facilitating interoperability between member states. The Commission will analyze interoperability issues in judicial videoconferences and will establish voluntary technical requirements. An implementation timeline details the deadlines for the operation of databases and electronic communication systems.

Additionally, the Commission emphasizes the importance of using artificial intelligence (AI) in justice, with examples such as the AI assistant OLGA from Germany, which helps process cases. However, the use of AI must comply with EU legislation, and AI tools cannot replace judges' decisions. The Commission will allocate significant funds for the digitalization of justice within the future Multiannual Financial Framework 2028–2034.

Moreover, the European Judicial Training Strategy will develop the digital skills of justice professionals, ensuring that they are prepared for the use of digital technologies. The success of this strategy depends on the cooperation of member states and judicial training networks.
