Zhanibek Nugertayev, general director of Rompetrol Downstream SRL, was heard at Police Section 1 in the Capital in a criminal case opened for suspicions of unfair competition. The case was initiated following a complaint from the company Cardoil Avantaj SA, with which Rompetrol had a contract for issuing special cards used for purchasing fuels. Cardoil claimed that Rompetrol unilaterally terminated the contract, notifying that, starting from August 24, 2025, the cards would no longer be accepted. However, the card acceptance system continued to operate partially, and Rompetrol allegedly collected confidential data about the users of these cards, subsequently using it to contact customers and offer them commercial offers.
