The government coalition has decided to increase the value of meal vouchers from 40 lei to 45 lei, according to political sources cited by Digi24. This measure will be implemented through a bill that will come into force next week. The increase was influenced by the protests of trade unionists last month, who demanded larger increases. Initially, there was discussion about a value of 50 lei for vouchers, but a smaller compromise was reached. It is important to mention that meal vouchers are taxable and subject to health contributions, and the costs are borne by employees.
