The march has as its main theme the safety of women and the fight against gender-based violence. On Sunday, at 3:00 PM, demonstrations are organized in over ten cities in Romania, including Bucharest, Cluj, Timișoara, Iași, and Sibiu, to draw attention to domestic violence and femicide. In the first months of the year, over 46 women have been killed, mostly by current or former partners. According to the Network for the Prevention and Combat of Violence Against Women, 42% of women in Romania have experienced physical violence or abuse. This autumn, the Parliament has established a special committee, "Romania without Violence," dedicated to combating domestic violence and femicide, with the aim of analyzing legislation and proposing amendments for the protection of victims. Committee members emphasize the need for a culture of prevention, which should be supported through education and accessible social services, recognizing femicide as a serious social phenomenon.
