The prosecutors have decided to open a case of suspicious death in the case of Rodica Stănoiu, former Minister of Justice, following the controversies surrounding her death. Rodica Stănoiu died on December 3, at the age of 86, and unofficial sources suggest that she may have been discharged from the hospital by her partner, who is 50 years younger, and that she had visible signs of head injuries and around her eyes.
Lawyer Crina Radu mentioned that the prosecutor in charge can order an exhumation to determine the cause of death, and the medical staff should have notified the authorities in case of observing signs of aggression. People close to her will be interviewed, including relatives and the nurses who attended to her. Rodica Stănoiu had a remarkable career in the legal field, serving as minister from 2000 to 2004 and as a senator for three terms. Shortly before her death, it is mentioned that she isolated herself from friends, and her partner may have had control over her mobile device, raising suspicions about his intentions.
