Drama situation for a good part of Romanians. A survey conducted by one of the largest recruitment sites in Romania shows that almost half of those surveyed feel they can no longer live on a single salary.

More specifically, a survey by eJobs shows that 42.5% of respondents say they can no longer live on a single salary. The percentage rises to over 48% if we also consider those who say they could live on a single salary but only if it exceeds 7,000 lei net.

The fixed income no longer seems to be the solution for daily living, only 27% prefer a stable activity with a fixed income. At the same time, 52% realize that a single activity and a single job are no longer sufficient and prefer a combination of a job with a fixed income and a flexible activity that allows them to choose their schedule and workload. The same proportion remains regardless of the age category they belong to or their level of education, which means that the need for an additional source of income is real and needs to be addressed.

The amount they would need to supplement their monthly income so that the financial pressure disappears and they feel they can "manage" would be, for half of the survey participants, between 2,000 and 3,000 lei per month, added to the income they already have. 28% would need an additional income between 1,000 and 1,500 lei per month, while for 16% a doubling of their current income would be mandatory. 7% say that a minimum of 500 – 800 lei per month would be enough to keep up with rising prices.
