Heavy snowfall and ice have created chaos in several counties in Romania, blocking roads and causing significant traffic delays. Drivers are facing hours of waiting due to the snow and ice, and 16 counties have closed schools and kindergartens.

Additionally, unfavorable weather conditions have affected rail traffic, with significant delays especially on the Craiova and Timișoara regional lines, due to a lack of electrical tension and clearance on the line. CFR Călători has announced that it has made diesel locomotives available to support interventions, and passengers can request refunds for unused tickets. Updated information about train traffic is available on the CFR website and through the Trenul meu application.
