Additionally, teachers can receive compensation for overtime and special tasks. Romania is facing a shortage of teachers, with 1.9% of positions unfilled, and 2% of teaching staff are not fully qualified. Compared to the OECD average, Romania has a lower number of mandatory teaching hours but allocates a significant percentage of time for core subjects. Although salaries are competitive, financial challenges may hinder salary increases.
