RO-Alert in Tulcea. F-16 planes have been launched to monitor Russian drone attacks in Ukraine, near the border with Romania.

The Ministry of Defense monitored Russian drone attacks on targets in Ukraine during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, near the border with Romania, in Tulcea County. Ground radars tracked 15 drones, but none entered Romanian airspace.

On the morning of April 29, Russian forces carried out attacks on the locality of Ismail, and two F-16 aircraft took off from the 86th Air Base in Fetești to respond to the situation. The National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, and a RO-Alert message was sent to the population in the northern part of Tulcea County. The F-16 pilots reported explosions on the Ukrainian side of the Danube, but no radar signals were detected in national airspace. The air alert was lifted at 2:40 AM, and the Ministry of Defense maintained contact with allied structures to inform about the situation generated by the attacks.
