According to the NewMoney/INSCOP Energy Security Barometer, 30.9% of Romanians would opt for a hybrid car if they had sufficient financial resources, followed by 19.9% who prefer diesel and 18.6% who choose electric vehicles. The former Minister of Energy, Virgil Popescu, emphasized the importance of being aware of the dependence on renewable technologies from China, in the context in which Romania aims to reduce its dependence on Russian gas. He mentioned that, in the next 10-15 years, excessive dependence on renewables could become problematic. Additionally, 54.3% of Romanians consider the development of the renewable energy sector essential, reflecting a positive trend towards green energy sources.
