The Senate purchased luxury goods worth more than 1.2 million lei, without a tender, from a company with only one employee.

The purchases began in June 2024 and included items such as silk scarves, leather wallets, hand-stitched ties and wooden icons, all bought by direct entrustment. These expenditures, made with public funds, raise questions about the transparency and efficiency of the use of taxpayers' money.
