The Romanian Armed Forces and the American company Allen Control Systems (ACS) have signed a memorandum of understanding for the joint production of autonomous anti-drone turrets in Romania. This announcement comes in the context in which ACS has signed contracts for the delivery of the Bullfrog turret to the armies of South Korea and the United Arab Emirates. Bullfrog is an autonomous combat station designed to detect, identify, and neutralize enemy UAVs, with the capability to engage drones from classes 1-3. ACS, based in Austin, Texas, was founded by entrepreneurs with experience in the defense technology field and has recently attracted significant funding for the development of its products. The Bullfrog turret is available exclusively to the USA and its allies, and ACS plans to open regional offices in Asia and Europe to support operations in the new markets.
