Romania will lead the Black Sea Task Force to combat sea mines, with the participation of Bulgaria and Turkey, for the next six months.

Romania has taken command of the Black Sea Task Force to Combat Sea Mines, which includes naval forces from Bulgaria and Turkey, under a memorandum signed in January 2024. The main mission is to ensure freedom of navigation and neutralize maritime dangers. Romania will contribute specialized ships and the change of command ceremony will take place on 9 July in the port of Constanta.
