The Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, announced that Romania is considering sending troops to support demining operations in the Strait of Hormuz, but no final decision has been made yet. Participation depends on coordination with international allies and the operational needs established jointly.

The official specified that Romania could contribute with experts, staff officers, and information exchange, leveraging recent experience in demining in the Black Sea. The initiative is part of a broader international effort to ensure freedom of navigation, supported by several European countries and Japan.
