Romania has the lowest proportion of young people working during their studies, with only 2.4%, compared to the European average of 25.4%.

According to a Eurostat report, Romania ranks last in the European Union regarding the number of young people (15-29 years old) who work while studying, with only 2.4% of them having a job. In contrast, 25.4% of young Europeans are employed during their studies. The highest employment rates are recorded in the Netherlands (74.3%), Denmark (56.4%), and Germany (45.8%). Additionally, only 0.6% of young Romanians are actively looking for a job while studying. Analyzing age groups, young people aged 15-19 focus on education, while the employment rate significantly increases among those aged 25-29, reaching 62% for women and 71.9% for men. In Romania, the unemployment rate among young people (15-24 years old) is alarming, reaching 26.9%, with the highest values in Mehedinți County.
