The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, has convened a working group to develop the National Prevention and Screening Strategy, aimed at transforming the way Romania approaches prevention. This strategy will be accompanied by a National Masterplan, which will detail screening centers, involved personnel, service integration, and benefits for patients.

Rogobete emphasized that the current screening system is fragmented, and the new strategy will organize prevention based on risk areas, such as cardiovascular diseases, oncology, mental health, and others. Family medicine will play a central role in this system, being the first point of contact for patients. The minister mentioned that Romania has resources for prevention, including modern outpatient facilities, and encouraged hospitals to utilize these structures for prevention activities.
