The decision was taken by the General Assembly of the Romanian Academy, which proposed that these institutes be coordinated by the branches in Bucharest, Cluj, Iași and Timișoara. The President of the Academy, Ioan Aurel Pop, underlined that the reorganization comes as a result of efforts to streamline and cut costs.
