The police, together with the commissioners from the Environmental Guard and prosecutors, carried out raids at an illegal zoo in Dâmbovița County, where bears, tigers, and exotic birds were kept illegally.

The owner of the zoo was fined last year 120,000 lei for irregularities, including unsuitable living conditions for the animals and lack of an environmental permit. The confiscated animals are being transported to safe places, four lions being taken to the Zoo in Galați, and two bears to the sanctuary in Zărnești.

In this criminal case, well-known individuals have been questioned, such as Nuțu Cămătaru and Dani Mocanu, who allegedly used animals from this zoo for music videos. Additionally, in 2015, there was a serious incident in which a woman was bitten by a lion, but she claimed she was attacked by dogs, and the owner denied the existence of wild animals.
