DSU chief Raed Arafat has said that the authorities need to purchase new high-capacity fire engines in view of the increased frequency of extreme weather events. Two previous procurement procedures failed due to insufficient funds. Arafat also emphasized the importance of preparing the population for emergencies, stressing the need for every citizen to be aware of safety measures and to have provisions for critical times.
