Cseke Attila, the interim Minister of Health, announced at a press conference a proposal to implement a pilot program for the salary of doctors based on performance criteria.
This initiative aims to select hospitals to participate, depending on the commitment of the beneficiaries, such as local authorities or county councils. The goal is to reward doctors who work extra hours, save lives, or perform critical surgical interventions.
If the program is successful after an evaluation in one or two years, it could be expanded nationally. Cseke emphasized that his interim status limits the promotion of new public policies, including in essential areas such as hospital classification or the national palliative care program, expressing hope for a swift resolution of the current political situation.
