Two patients with severe burns, covering over 60% of their body surface, have been safely transferred to a hospital in Belgium, where they will receive specialized treatment. Minister Alexandru Rogobete highlighted the complexity and speed of coordinating this transfer, thanking the Romanian Air Forces and the Department for Emergency Situations.
At the same time, he emphasized the alarming increase in cases of severe burns in Romania, caused by violence, self-harm, and negligence, which put major pressure on the medical system. Romania is facing a number of patients with severe burns above the European Union average, highlighting the need for individual responsibility. The minister announced that the centers for major burns in Timișoara and Târgu Mureș are nearly completed and will provide modern treatment to patients starting next year. Prevention remains essential for protecting lives and effectively managing medical cases.
