Over 80 people from Buzău have lost their right to social assistance after refusing to participate in professional training courses organized by the National Agency for Employment (AJOFM) or to take vacant jobs, citing medical reasons or categorically refusing to enter the labor market.
At the end of June, AJOFM Buzău recorded over 5,300 unemployed, and approximately 560 people have exited the records for various reasons, including refusal to participate in courses. The director of AJOFM Buzău, Ionel Tociu, emphasized that most refusals come from social assistance recipients, who cite health issues, even though upon registration they are required to present medical certificates proving they are fit for work.
Additionally, the average age of social assistance recipients has decreased, reaching approximately 40 years, which indicates that many of these individuals are fit for work. The unemployment rate in Buzău at the end of June was 3.77%, decreasing compared to the previous month.
