Otopeni Airport introduces 14 free drinking water supply points

Otopeni Airport has inaugurated the first free drinking water station for passengers, marking an important step in improving the services offered. The National Company Bucharest Airports has announced that passengers will no longer need to buy bottled water, as tap water is drinkable and safe for consumption. The first station, equipped with a sensor dispenser and a fountain, is also accessible to people with disabilities.

The airport uses water from its own deep boreholes, and a total of 14 such stations will be installed in both terminals. Passengers can now pass through security with empty bottles, which they can refill for free. Additionally, restrictions on liquids will be relaxed, allowing the transport of containers larger than 100 ml. This initiative has been well received by travelers, who appreciate the accessibility of drinking water.
