Starting from Thursday, 12:00 PM, and until Friday, 10:00 AM, 11 counties in Romania are under an orange code due to severe weather. These counties are Cluj, Alba, Hunedoara, Vâlcea, Argeș, Dâmbovița, Prahova, Buzău, Vrancea, Bacău, Neamț, and Suceava, and the mountainous areas in Harghita, Covasna, Brașov, Sibiu, and Gorj are also affected. Torrential downpours are expected with accumulations of 40-60 liters per square meter within intervals of one to three hours, and isolated amounts may exceed 70 liters. The wind will blow in gusts of 70-90 km/h, and hail will be of medium size.
A yellow code has been active since Thursday morning, 10:00 AM, until Friday, for Transylvania, Moldova, Oltenia, and other regions, where showers, lightning strikes, and storms with gusts of 50-70 km/h are forecasted.
On Friday, a second yellow code will come into effect for Muntenia and Dobrogea, with showers and lightning strikes, accumulating 20-30 liters per square meter.
