The former Minister of Economy, Radu Ștefan Oprea, stated that the fine of 104,832 lei imposed on the interim Minister of Economy, Irineu Darău, by AMEPIP seems to reflect an internal conflict between USR and PNL, referring to the explanations provided by him regarding the sanction. Oprea stated that he does not comment on the validity of the fine, but argues that if Darău's claims are true, the situation indicates problems within the governing coalition. For his part, Irineu Darău announced that he has contested the fine in court, claiming that he is being held accountable for delays accumulated before taking office as minister and that the sanction was imposed in violation of legal procedures.
