Oana Țoiu, the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated for France 24 that the drone that fell on a block in Galați is of Russian origin, emphasizing that Vladimir Putin is aware of this, despite his denials.
'We know clearly that it is a Russian drone. And I have a clear message for Vladimir Putin, which is not only that we know it is a Russian drone, but we also know that he knows it is a Russian drone. The number of drones that have been launched by Russia in the illegal war at our border, in Ukraine, is so large that, until now, experts clearly know how to identify the design of Russian drones.', said Oana Țoiu.
Țoiu condemned the incident, calling it 'unacceptable and irresponsible'. She emphasized that Romania is not part of the war and that the drone entered Romanian airspace illegally.
In response, Putin stated that Russia is willing to conduct an 'objective investigation' if the remains of the drone are provided, bringing into discussion similar incidents with Ukrainian drones in other countries.
