Since August 13, smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is banned in parks, transportation stations and sports facilities in Cluj-Napoca, according to a decision of the City Council. The measure was preceded by a 90-day grace period, during which time signs were put up and information campaigns were carried out. Exceptions are made for officially approved outdoor events, where smoking will be allowed in specially designated areas. Local police will impose fines of between 100 and 500 lei for breaking the rules.
