In an interview granted to the French publication Le Monde, the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, discussed the cancellation of the presidential elections in November 2024 and the rise of the AUR party, which has become the second party in Parliament. Dan emphasized that AUR voters are not extremists or pro-Russian, but citizens who do not trust traditional parties and want change.

He highlighted the importance of regaining citizens' trust in the political class, stressing the need for a real fight against corruption. The President mentioned that Romanians are more concerned about their daily living conditions than geopolitical issues, thus highlighting the current priorities of Romanian society.
