In an interview, President Nicușor Dan stated that a significant part of Călin Georgescu's campaign was influenced by Moscow. He emphasized that the authorities have information about how social networks were manipulated, but do not know the company that coordinated the strategy and the financial flows involved. Dan mentioned that, although Romania is prepared regarding cybersecurity, there are gaps in combating disinformation. He explained that external influences have been evident, including through fake accounts and advertising agencies linked to Russia. Nicușor Dan emphasized that there are suspicions that a network of Romanians may have supported Georgescu's campaign, adding that the available information is limited but indicates a clear direction towards the Kremlin.
