New individuals, aged between 16 and 43, are being investigated for fraud, being accused of committing 26 offenses in several counties.

The police in Constanța have detained nine individuals, aged between 16 and 43, for fraud and attempted fraud, following the investigation of 26 crimes committed between April and July.

The victims were called on their landline, being informed that a relative of theirs urgently needed a mechanical ventilation device due to a lung condition. The total damage caused is approximately 500,000 lei. The accused individuals posed as family members, and during the calls, accomplices posing as doctors intervened to create panic.

The police conducted 13 home searches, discovering sums of money, jewelry, and other goods. The nine detained individuals are to be presented to the court with a proposal for preventive detention.
