In the first six months of 2025, new car registrations fell by 21.8% compared to the same period in 2024, to 64,339 units

According to APIA data, new car registrations in Romania registered a significant drop of 21.8% in the first six months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, totaling 64,339 units. In June, the drop was even more pronounced, at 50.1%, with 10,522 cars registered. Electric cars had a market share of 4.1%, down 54.3%. Dacia, Toyota and Skoda were the most registered brands during this period.
