The motion of censure against the Bolojan Government will be read on Wednesday, in the joint plenary of Parliament, and the debate and vote will take place next Tuesday, on May 5, as decided by the leadership of the two Chambers.

The leadership of Parliament has decided that the motion will be read on Wednesday at 12:30 in the joint plenary and will be voted in secret, by ballot, on Tuesday, May 5, at 11:00.

The leader of AUR, George Simion, announced on Tuesday that the motion of censure was signed by 253 parliamentarians and was submitted, in the context where the motion needs 233 votes to pass.

The motion argues that Bolojan is preparing a massive divestment of strategic assets, without public consultation, and that this action will bring significant losses to the state. The criticisms focus on the undervaluation of assets and the lack of transparency in the sales process, accusing the Government of undermining the national economy. Additionally, the use of the PNRR as a justification for rapid sales is contested, emphasizing that these do not reduce the budget deficit.

How the distribution of mandates in Parliament looks:

In the Chamber of Deputies, PSD has 94 parliamentarians, AUR – 62, PNL- 51, USR-40, UDMR – 22, minorities – 17, SOS-15, POT-16, and independents-13.

In the Senate, PSD has 36 members (without Victoria Stoiciu who announced her resignation from PSD and who did not sign the motion would bring 35), AUR-28, PNL- 22, USR-19, PACE-12, UDMR-10, independents -6.

Thus, PSD has 130 parliamentarians (129, if we do not count Stoiciu), while AUR has 90.
