The Private Beneficiaries Procurement Application of the Ministry of Investments and European Projects, which was the target of a cyber attack, is not used for the implementation of projects funded by the PNRR.
Informat.ro reported Thursday evening that the Ministry of Investments and European Projects (MIPE) suffered a significant cyber attack on July 16, and the attackers managed to erase the entire database of projects and PNRR beneficiaries. MIPE confirmed the attack in a statement, but emphasized that the PNRR was not affected. The Ministry of Investments and European Projects announces that the Private Beneficiaries Procurement Application, dedicated to carrying out procurement procedures by private beneficiaries of projects funded by the Cohesion Policy, was the target of a cyber incident. Currently, the Private Beneficiaries Procurement Application cannot be accessed. We emphasize that this application is not used for the implementation of projects funded by the PNRR. President Nicușor Dan stated that the attack is "unfortunate," but emphasized that such incidents are part of an "ongoing struggle," in the context of the thousands of cyber attacks that have targeted Europe in recent years. We remind that the data stolen in the wake of the cyber attack that targeted the national cadastre and land registry system were put up for sale on the internet on July 15.
