The Minister of Labor, Florin Manole, announced on Thursday that nearly 500 people were found without work contracts in a single week, a warning signal for the labor market in Romania. The checks took place between March 30 and April 3, and the Labor Inspection imposed fines of over 7 million lei for irregularities.
Manole emphasized that this situation is not normal and cannot be ignored, promising that inspections will continue throughout the country to combat undeclared work. So far, no detailed information has been provided about the sectors in which workers without legal forms were found. The Minister reiterated the commitment to carry out constant checks to ensure compliance with labor legislation.
