The ''Mihail Kogălniceanu'' International Airport in Constanța officially inaugurated its new passenger terminal on Tuesday, an investment of 57 million euros, funded by European funds and the state budget. The project, initiated in 2003, aimed to modernize airport infrastructure, increase operational capacity, and improve safety through modern security solutions and air traffic management.

Airport representatives emphasized the importance of this development for Romania's connectivity at the European and international levels. The event was marked by the playing of the national anthem and a religious service officiated by the Archbishop of Tomis, Teodosie. Additionally, investments in transport infrastructure and the role of airports in economic development were discussed. The airport clarified that the temporary closure from March 20 to 21 will not affect commercial flights, as it is necessary for the relocation of equipment and the establishment of IT connections for the new terminal.
