The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has announced that a Mediterranean cyclone will affect Romania, bringing heavy snowfall and severe frost until January 15. Precipitation will begin on January 7, with a consistent layer of snow in most regions, and the wind will have significant intensifications, with speeds of up to 85 km/h in mountainous areas.

Additionally, between January 8 and 9, a polar-arctic air mass will be felt, with maximum negative temperatures between -8 and -6 degrees, and at night, values below -10 degrees will be recorded in mountainous areas. ANM warns that between January 12 and 15, temperatures will remain negative, with maximums between -10 and -2 degrees and minimums between -16 and -10 degrees.

A possible warming is expected after January 16, but until then, severe winter will continue, with snowfall and a snow layer of up to 50 cm in 30 counties. This winter is proving to be authentic, contrary to previous years when January was milder.
