The general mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, announced that, following discussions with representatives of the Otokar company, over 95% of the 115 unavailable buses are expected to return to circulation within a maximum of two months. Currently, only 285 out of the 400 buses are active, the rest being withdrawn due to malfunctions and lack of maintenance. Ciucu emphasized that this situation affects the quality of public transport service and threatened to enforce the performance bond of the contract if the established deadline is not met.

Additionally, the mayor made an unannounced visit to the Floreasca Bus Depot, where he found poor working conditions and a lack of spare parts, which complicates the repairs of the buses. This situation has a direct impact on the frequency of services and the quality of public transport in Bucharest.
